Removal, check of a state and installation of assembly of yokes

Bearings of the camshaft are uncovered together with assembly of yokes. In order to avoid a camshaft vyskakivaniye under the influence of effort of a tension of a gas-distributing belt, ask the assistant to hold a shaft and at once establish into place a cover of the extreme bearing (it is supposed that the belt of the GRM drive is not removed).

Having uncovered camshaft bearings, attentively check a condition of both bearings, and their necks on a shaft (see Removal, check of a state and installation of the camshaft).

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover a head of cylinders (see Removal and installation of a cover of a head of cylinders.
2. Bring into the provision of VMT the piston of the first cylinder (see Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)).

3. Ask the assistant to hold the end of the camshaft turned to transmission, then, in stages (on 1/4 turns for approach), in the required order (see an illustration) weaken bolts of covers of bearings so that the effort developed by valvate springs was removed.

4. Take assembly of yokes with axes from a head of cylinders (see an accompanying illustration).

5. Take a spray from a head of cylinders.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Having removed assembly of yokes, it will be reasonable to investigate it for the purpose of more detailed studying of a condition of components. Turn out fixing bolts and remove from axes of a yoke, a spring and a cover of bearings.

On the engines equipped with the VTEC system it will be reasonable to fasten yokes of primary and secondary inlet valves with rubber bandages. Mark the provision of axes of yokes in relation to covers of bearings. Try to put the removed components as their installation as at assembly they have to be put strictly on the former places.


2. Carefully clear components and check them for existence of signs of wear and damages. Estimate a condition of the surfaces of yokes contacting to the camshaft (see an accompanying illustration). Check for existence of zadir and signs of excessive wear of a surface of landing of yokes on axes, and also walls of landing nests of yokes. Defective components are subject to replacement. Make sure also of passability of maslotok.

3. Blow a masloraspylitel.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Oil all components pure motive and establish them on the regular places on an axis of yokes.

Pay attention to marking, the distinguishing left-side components from right-hand.


2. On the engines equipped with the VTEC system replace a sealing ring of a masloraspylitel, then establish the last on the regular place in a head of cylinders.
3. Grease cams and necks of the camshaft with special adjusting lubricant. Apply a thin layer of anaerobic sealant then establish assembly of yokes on the regular place on the surfaces of covers of the first and sixth bearings of the camshaft interfaced to a head of cylinders.

4. In stages in the correct order (see an accompanying illustration) tighten bolts of fastening of covers of the camshaft with the required effort.

5. Further installation of components is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle. In conclusion do not forget to make adjustment of valvate gaps (if in it there is a need) (see the Head Routine maintenance).
6. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of leak of oil and serviceability of functioning.
