5-staged manual box of gear shifting General information For a complete set of the cars considered in the present manual the 5-staged manual box of gear shifting (MBGS), the 4-staged automatic transmission (AT), or stepless automatic transmission (CVT) are used. The Civic models of all years of release are equipped with one of two RKPP types: S40 and S4S. on the Integra model till 1994 the issue is established by RKPP Y80, on later – S80. All information on the manual boxes of gear shifting (MBGS) is provided in this Part of the Head. to 4-staged AT and CVT it is devoted 4-staged and stepless automatic transmissions (ат and cvt). The description of such procedures of the general order as replacement of epiploons is provided also in the Part a 5-staged manual box of gear shifting. Placement of RKPP and the components accompanying it in a motive compartment of the car it is given on an accompanying illustration below. RKPP arrangement in a motive compartment of the car (bottom view)
In view of complexity of a design of RKPP, absence on free sale of necessary replaceable internal components and need of use of the special equipment, authors of this manual do not recommend to owners of cars to carry out capital repairs of the transmission independently. Repair of a box in the conditions of a workshop of car service is rather expensive operation, and therefore, it is necessary to consider alternative options of replacement of the failed block new or restored. Any useful information on repair and replacement of transmission can be received in service center of the Honda company. Regardless of the choice of a way of elimination of problems (repair or replacement), independent dismantle of a box from the car will allow to reduce material inputs significantly. |
