Removal and installation of the generator

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!


2. Previously having marked, disconnect an electrical wiring from the generator.

3a. Weaken an axial bolt of the generator.

3b. Weaken an adjusting bolt of the generator (see accompanying illustrations) and take off a driving belt.

4. For extraction of the generator from a motive compartment it is necessary to dismantle partially the power shaft located under it. Disconnect the lower end of a control lever from a suspension bracket rack (see the Head Podvesk and steering) and release the external end of the left power shaft from a wheel nave. On the Integra models it will also be required to otboltit from the engine block the basic bearing of an intermediate shaft. 5. Turn out adjusting and axial bolts and remove the generator from the engine (see an accompanying illustration).

6. In case of need replacements of the generator, take the block removed from the car with yourself in shop as an example – the new generator has to correspond on the technical characteristics failed. Compare plugs, – they have to have the same numbering, the size and an arrangement. In conclusion, compare the identification marking which is usually beaten out on the block case, or printed on the label which is tied up to it – identification numbers of old and replaceable generators have to coincide.
7. Usually replaceable generators are delivered not complete with a driving pulley which in that case needs to be rearranged from the old block.
8. Installation is made upside-down.
9. In conclusion adjust a tension of a driving belt (see. Routine maintenance).
10. For check of serviceability of functioning of the generator measure the charge tension developed by it (see System of a charge - the general information and precautionary measures).
