1. If the starter does not rotate at turn of the ignition key in situation START at all, first of all, make the following elementary checks: a) Check the battery charge level, and also reliability of fastening of wires on plugs of the battery and the traction relay of a starter; b) Check conditions of wires of the battery (see Check of a state and replacement of wires of the battery). Replace defective components; c) Check a condition of the battery (see Check of a state and replacement of the battery). In case of need replace it new; d) Check a condition of an electrical wiring and terminal connections of a starter (see schemes of electric connections in the Head Onboard electric equipment); e) Check reliability of tightening of bolts of fastening of a starter; f) At the corresponding complete set check a condition of fusible inserts in the assembly block in a motive compartment of the car (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). If any of inserts failed, make investigation and elimination of the reasons of an overload. Also check serviceability of functioning of a chain of the switch of ignition (see the Head Onboard electric equipment); g) Check serviceability of functioning of the sensor switch of permission of start (model with AT) / switching off of a chain of a starter (model with RKPP). Start of the engine can be carried out only when the lever of the selector of transfers is installed in situation "P" or "N" (AT), or the pedal of coupling (RKPP) is squeezed completely out. 2. If the starter does not begin to rotate at turn of the ignition key in situation START, check serviceability of giving of power supply of the battery for the traction relay. For a start make sure of serviceability of functioning of the switch of ignition. Connect the voltmeter to plugs of the traction relay and ask the assistant to turn the engine. The voltmeter has to issue the indication 12.6 B, otherwise, being verified with the corresponding schemes of electric connections (see the Head Onboard electric equipment), check all relays and safety locks included consistently in a chain of system of start. On the Integra models find the panel of relays/safety locks under the dashboard from the driver's party of the car and check a state предохранит.еля No. 31 on 7.5 A. Also check serviceability of functioning of the locking relay of a starter. If food moves regularly, but the starter does not rotate, remove it from the engine (see Removal and installation of a starter) and transfer for more detailed diagnostics to a workbench (see paragraph 4). 3. If the starter turns a bent shaft too slowly, it is necessary to check the size of the supply voltage given on it. Check is made without removal of a starter from the engine. Do not include a starter in a row more than for 10 seconds. During an engine provorachivaniye tension should not fall lower than 8.5 In (Civic)/8.0 B (Integra). By means of the ampermeter measure force of the current proceeding in a chain. Nominal rates make no more than 350 And for the Civic models, no more than 360 And for the Integra models equipped with AT and no more than 270 And for the Integra models with RKPP. Various parameters can exert impact on serviceability of a provorachivaniye of a starter. So, the battery has to be completely charged, terminal connections of its wires should not be damaged by corrosion, the block of the engine should not be overcooled.

4. If the starter does not rotate, despite serviceability of giving on it of food, remove assembly and transfer it to a workbench. Most likely internal defect of an electric motor takes place. In certain cases jamming of the engine appears the reason and for its exception it is necessary to check serviceability of a provorachivaniye of a bent shaft manually for a pulley (see Repair of the engine without extraction from the car - the Civic models or Repair of the engine without extraction from the car - the Integra model). Clamp assembly of a starter with the traction relay in a vice with soft sponges and a wire crossing point connect its negative plug(s) to the case (see an accompanying illustration). The second wire crossing point connect the positive plug of the battery to the starter B+ plug. Connect the switch of a starter and give food on the plug S of the traction relay (no more than for 10 seconds). Make sure that the plunger of the traction relay is pushed forward, displacing as appropriate the lever of the drive and the obgonny coupling, and the moved-forward leading gear wheel of a starter begins to rotate regularly. If the gear wheel moves forward, but does not rotate, therefore the electric motor is faulty. If the plunger does not move forward, despite correct clicking of the relay, any of assembly components can be faulty. In good repair a starter the leading gear wheel when giving food has to move forward and rotate. |
